About The Position

Developmental Services Center (DSC) provides comprehensive services across the lifespan-from birth through adulthood-including family development, case management, employment, residential, respite, and community day services for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford Counties. As part of our team, you'll join a positive, caring, and mission-driven group of professionals dedicated to empowering people with disabilities to live full, self-directed lives. No experience necessary, and we offer extensive PAID training for DSP’s who help fulfill our mission and support the individuals we serve. CNA’s are encouraged to apply! This position is integral to providing residential support services to people in the Champaign County area. In this role, you will provide guidance and supervision, conduct individual and group training programs, general household maintenance and routines, and complete data and records according to individual program plans and Group Home procedures.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/G.E.D.
  • 21 years of age with Valid Driver’s License
  • Must pass fingerprint-based background check
  • Patience, compassion, communication skills, teamwork, dependability, integrity

Responsibilities

  • Assist with life’s essential activities to start and end the day
  • Help individuals manage daily living skills like preparing meals, laundry, dishes and vacuuming
  • Go for a walk together, enjoy playing games or connecting in the community. Go fishing, to a local farmer’s market, a movie!
  • Develop a supportive and empowering environment
  • Assure the residential environment is clean and free from safety hazards
  • Provide guidance and supervision
  • Conduct individual and group training programs
  • General household maintenance and routines
  • Complete data and records according to individual program plans and Group Home procedures
