About The Position

The Opportunity Alliance is seeking a Residential Crisis Clinician at our 8-bed, short-term crisis residential program. Broadway Crossings is part of our continuum of crisis intervention and stabilization services serving adults experiencing a mental health or co-occurring crisis located in South Portland. This position is responsible for provision of treatment, care coordination and crisis stabilization services to our clients. We’re looking for a Residential Crisis Clinician who thrives as part of a highly collaborative team, is passionate about real‑time clinical work, who thinks creatively, adapts quickly, and brings both empathy and solid clinical judgment to the work.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in social work or counseling degree from an accredited graduate school required.
• Licensed Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor preferred; Minimal of Clinical Conditional required.
• Experience in clinical assessment of clients and ability to document assessments in a concise and comprehensive manner
• Ability to make clinical decisions autonomously.
• Must possess and be able to demonstrate excellent organizational skills.
• Special skill areas: technical literacy, comprehensive knowledge of DSM-V, excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated team effectiveness and consensus building.
• Minimum of 1 or more years of direct experience with Co-Occurring Disorders preferred.
• Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background, child protective service check & sex offender check.
• Must not be on the state or federal suspension and disbarment list.
• Must be able to pass pre-employment physical and TB screen.
• Must be able to exert moderate physical effort with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and frequently lift and carry small children or material weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Normal office conditions such as sitting, with occasional standing, walking, reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching, typing and lifting up to 10 pounds.
• A good driving record is required for occasional transportation of clients or driving to agency location to complete work.

• Minimum of 1 or more years of direct experience with Co-Occurring Disorders preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides quality treatment and service planning for clients in the program.
• Provides various clinical, supportive and case management services to clients.
• Provides consultation/collaboration with supportive others (family, friends, and community-based resources and services – both professional and non-professional, clinical and non-clinical.)
• Provides consultation and support for staff in relation to client treatment.
• Facilitates regular supervision in collaboration with the Program Director to support staff growth, skill development, and adherence to best practices.
• Offers in-the-moment case review to guide high-quality service delivery.
• Provides clinical leadership for therapeutic activities and groups within the treatment setting.
• Assists with assessing and triaging client needs, ensuring appropriate referrals and safe, effective crisis intervention.
• Acts as a clinical resource regarding suicide risk, mental health, substance use, safety planning, and care coordination.
