About The Position

Founded in Brockton, MA in 1975, BAMSI is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization dedicated to "bringing people and services together." We work with children, families, individuals, and seniors to enrich their lives, impacting over 50,000 individuals annually. The Residential Counselor will provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED
Valid driver’s license
Ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.)
Strong communication skills (English)
Basic computer proficiency
Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.
MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.

Nice To Haves

direct care experience preferred.
Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).

Responsibilities

Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
