About The Position

At MultiCare, Residential Counselors are integral to a team dedicated to supporting adults in Behavioral Health Network (BHN) residential programs. The core purpose of this role is to assist residents in developing essential skills for recovery and wellness, fostering their capacity for independent living, and instilling hope and motivation as they progress through healing and build resiliency. Requirements

  • AA degree in social services or related field preferred
  • One (1) year of experience working with mentally ill consumers in a residential setting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • BLS - Basic Life Support (includes RQI), Food Handler’s, & First Aid cards will be required within 14-days of hire
  • Washington State Counselor Agency Affiliated Registered or within 30 days and obtain within 90 days of hire
  • Drivers License/Abstract

Responsibilities

  • Provides counseling to help residents re-establish self-identity, sense of purpose and meaning in their lives, which may include developing plans for work, school, and/or volunteering, and making community connections.
  • Helps residents develop life skills, such as cooking, cleaning, money management, social skills and knowledge of symptoms and medications.
  • Creates treatment plans and discharge planning documents and delivers/reviews with residents.
  • Conducts individual and group counseling sessions.
