Residential Counselor MAP
About The Position
BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration. This role is crucial in making a direct impact on residents' growth and independence. BAMSI is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization founded in Brockton, MA in 1975, dedicated to "bringing people and services together." The organization impacts over 50,000 individuals annually, working with children, families, individuals, and seniors. Requirements
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.
- High school diploma/GED; direct care experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
- Strong communication skills (English) and basic computer proficiency.
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.

- Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
Responsibilities
- Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration.
- Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
- Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
- Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
- Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
- Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
