This Residential Counselor role involves providing rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLEs), helping them develop daily living skills and integrate into the community. The position requires fostering independence, implementing treatment plans, administering medications, and maintaining a supportive home environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.)
  • Strong communication skills (English)
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care
  • Willingness to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain MAP certification within 3 months if not currently certified

  • Direct care experience
  • Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese)

Responsibilities

  • Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration.
  • Complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification within 3 months if not currently certified.
  • Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
  • Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
  • Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
  • Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
  • Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
  • Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
