About The Position

BAMSI is seeking a Residential Counselor to provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration. This role is crucial in helping residents learn, grow, and thrive, aligning with BAMSI's mission to meet each person where they are. Requirements

High school diploma/GED
Direct care experience preferred.
Valid driver’s license
Ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
Strong communication skills (English)
Basic computer proficiency.
Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.

Nice To Haves

Lived experience or multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).

Responsibilities

MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.
Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
