About The Position

Riverside Community Care is seeking a Residential Counselor to join their growing, stable, and highly regarded organization. This role offers valuable human services experience while making a difference in the lives of others by providing person-centered supports for individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, or acquired brain injury. The goal is to help each person learn daily living skills, build meaningful relationships, and become a valued member of their community. The Residential Counselor will be part of a supportive team that helps individuals maintain their physical and emotional health, live safely in the community, foster relationships, develop independence, and participate in community activities. The role combines support, supervision, coaching, and companionship, with every interaction rooted in respect and appreciation for each individual’s uniqueness. Employees will encourage residents to identify their strengths, explore new opportunities, and actualize their hopes and dreams. The residences are located in welcoming neighborhood settings, typically housing 3-5 people with private bedrooms and shared living spaces. Staff provide ongoing guidance and support, and are available 24/7 with schedules tailored to meet individual needs. Every shift offers the chance to build relationships, see progress, and be part of something meaningful.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic computer skills required
• Valid driver's license required
