About The Position

The Department of Community Corrections is currently looking to hire a Transition Coordinator to join our team. The Transition Coordinator provides life skills counseling and program supervision to adult justice-involved individuals (JIIs) in a residential correctional program. The incumbent will screen offenders for admission to the program, orient newly-admitted residents, conduct needs assessments, develop case plans, maintain caseload records of residents, and monitor their probation compliance while in the program. This position is represented by the AFSCME labor organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, corrections, counseling, or a related field; AND one (1) year of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field; OR Associate's Degree in psychology, sociology, social work, corrections, counseling, or a related field AND two (2) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field; OR High school diploma or equivalent AND four (4) years of experience in corrections, criminal justice, counseling, social work, or a related field.
  • Oregon driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Completion of a background and criminal history check.
  • Psychological evaluation.
