About The Position
The Residential Counselor supports group home residents with daily living activities. This role involves delivering high-quality services that help consumers achieve measurable outcomes for new and ongoing consumer care challenges in accordance with Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRP). The position requires maintaining compliance with all licensing, regulatory, and ENJ policies and procedures, and upholding ENJ’s Core Values at all times (Warmth, Respectful, Expertise). This role requires driving as an essential function. Candidates must have a valid driver's license and be subject to post-offer verification of driving eligibility consistent with company insurance requirements.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Responsibilities
- Supports group home residents with daily living activities.
- Delivers high-quality services that help consumers achieve measurable outcomes for new and ongoing consumer care challenges in accordance with Individual Rehabilitation Plans (IRP).
- Maintains compliance with all licensing, regulatory, and ENJ policies and procedures.
- Maintains ENJ’s Core Values at all times (Warmth, Respectful, Expertise).
- Communicates clearly, professionally, and concisely via verbal and written communication channels.
- Regularly bends, kneels, crouches, reaches, ascends and descends stairs, pulls, or pushes heavy objects, including but not limited to wheelchairs, as well as physical assistance and crisis interventions.
- May operate and transport consumer’s in Busettes and 12 -passenger buses (ambulatory and non-ambulatory).
- Regularly operates office equipment and using technology on a daily basis.
- Works varying shifts including evenings, nights, weekends and/or holidays to accommodate and support service activity.
- Transport service recipients to and from home and assigned activities within the community.
