Residential Counselor
About The Position
Horizon Village (or Terrace House) is seeking a dedicated Residential Counselor to join their close-knit team in a residential setting. This role involves working with adults in a crisis setting, providing support, counseling, observation, nursing, and medical care to help them achieve initial stabilization from drug and/or alcohol withdrawal. The position offers a fast-paced and dynamic environment where counselors can see patients daily, allowing for continuous engagement and impact. Horizon provides a state-of-the-art onboarding experience and ongoing support through team meetings and one-on-one sessions with managers.
Requirements
- CASAC or CASAC-T (Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor)
- OR Master’s degree in a program that will grant licensure in the state of New York
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and develop treatment plans that identify patients’ needs and strengths
- Provide individual and group counseling
- Participate in weekly one-on-ones with your manager, as well as team meetings to discuss cases
- Coordinate and collaborate with other service providers and family members
- Maintain patient records consistent with regulatory requirements and quality assurance standards
- Perform other duties as defined by the Program Director
