About The Position
The DDS Residential Counselor - Valerie Drive position at Open Sky supports adults with developmental and intellectual challenges referred by the Department of Developmental Services. The mission is to provide safe, nurturing homes that address individual needs and preferences, encouraging active community participation through volunteering, classes, outings, or health clubs. The dedicated staff ensures individuals have the necessary supports and skills to build a successful and satisfying life in the community, enabling them to lead meaningful and active lives. This role supports individuals diagnosed with a Developmental Disability to live as independently as possible, providing evidence-based treatment and care within a group living environment. Counselors offer guidance, support, and perform various activities of daily living, implementing procedures to ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals, promoting healthy, productive, and independent lives. Counselors are strong advocates for individuals served, believe in community power, and acknowledge the importance of community integration.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent, required.
- Valid Driver’s License and acceptable driving record, required.
- Reliability, willingness to learn, and being open to new opportunities.
Responsibilities
- Assist in developing individualized, person-centered treatment plans and play a lead role in the daily implementation plans.
- Implement all procedures that ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals and general cleanliness and safety of the physical site.
- Assist individuals to access and/or provide transportation.
- Review and complete all required documentation.
