Requirements

  • Residential Worker: Must have a High School Diploma, or GED. Experience working with children. Possess an equivalent combination of education and experience. Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks. Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status. Must successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.
  • Residential Counselor: Hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences (preferred), OR Have completed at least 60 semester credits and have one year of experience working with children, OR Possess an equivalent combination of education and experience. Be at least 21 years old and willing to complete agency background checks. Maintain a valid driver’s license or obtain one with approved driver status. Must successfully complete all agency background checks, which include checks to detect criminal convictions of behavior harmful towards children, spousal abuse, and drug or sex crimes.

Nice To Haves

  • Hold a bachelor’s degree in behavioral or social sciences (preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Provide residential care to youth ages 10yr to 17yr who have a variety of mental health, behavioral, substance abuse, and legal issues.
  • Work as part of an interdisciplinary team, conduct groups, supervise youth in community settings, and provide a positive and healthy environment through role modeling.
  • Ensure child protection policies are followed.
  • Safeguard residents and staff through appropriate physical intervention if necessary.
  • Transport residents and uphold health and safety regulations.
