The Residential Counselor - MAP provides rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration.
Requirements
- MAP (Medication Administration Program) certification is required for this position. Candidates without current certification must be willing to complete employer-provided training and successfully obtain certification within 3 months.
- High school diploma/GED.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to assist with mobility (bending, standing, etc.).
- Strong communication skills (English).
- Basic computer proficiency.
- Compassion, patience, and commitment to trauma-informed care.
Nice To Haves
- Direct care experience preferred.
- Lived experience.
- Multilingual abilities (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese).
Responsibilities
- Provide rehabilitative support to adults in Group Living Environments (GLE), fostering skills for daily living and community integration.
- Teach ADLs (cooking, budgeting, medication management) and socialization skills.
- Implement Treatment Plans and behavioral interventions under clinician guidance.
- Administer/supervise medications by MAP guidelines and document care.
- Transport residents to appointments and community activities.
- Advocate for residents’ needs and model healthy coping strategies.
- Maintain a safe, clean home environment and complete timely documentation.
