Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Experience working with adults who have mental health concerns required.
  • Tennessee drivers license with “F” endorsement; F endorsement within 30 days.
  • Must have CPR/First aid.

Responsibilities

  • Cooking and assisting with daily activities.
  • Providing support, assistance, psycho-social education and supervision to Adult Residential Services residents.
  • Supervising and monitoring residents’ compliance with Program rules and behavioral expectations.
  • Re-directing residents on non-compliance with rules and expectations and referring major incidents of non-compliance to the Residential Coordinator.
  • Supervising, educating on and monitoring residents’ self-medication procedures and documenting in residents’ charts.
  • Reviewing referral information as it is presented to help determine eligibility for admission and continued stay for Supported Housing and Crisis Respite where relevant.
  • Completing authorizations for stay as needed with each Managed Care Company.
  • Supervising meal preparation and compliance of residents with dietary guidelines, providing education as needed.
  • Receiving and dispensing residents’ funds from locked filing cabinet in office as needed and documenting all money received and given to residents in residents’ charts.
  • Informing the Residential Coordinator of any needed household supplies or household repairs.
  • Planning and supervising psycho-educational activities and recreational activities during residents’ free time and providing van transportation on outings.
  • Informing Residential Coordinator of all medical emergencies, crisis situations with residents or any disruptions in program operation.
  • Receiving briefing at beginning of shift from Residential Coordinator or other staff and providing briefing to other staff at end of shift.
  • Documenting a progress note on each resident once per shift and at any time there is a significant incident.
  • Attending all Program staff meetings and all scheduled staff development activities.
  • Conducting room inspections as needed to monitor and educate on cleanliness of rooms, residents’ compliance with hygiene/grooming and household task completion.
  • Reporting all resident grievances to Residential Coordinator.
