About The Position

This is a six-week residential position where the employee will live with high school students Sunday evening through Friday afternoons while students are living on campus in dorms as part of the Upward Bound Program. The program provides room and board while students are on campus, as well as a salary. The program is six weeks in length, from June 2-July 12, 2024. There is an option for travel/chaperone duties from July 14-20, 2024. The position requires availability for staff training during the week of May 6-10, 2024 (exact date/time to be determined). The position also involves supervising six residential assistants to ensure adequate participant coverage while minors are living on campus.

Requirements

  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Good attendance record.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work with low-income and/or disadvantaged students.
  • Ability to understand and work well with students, parents, teachers and target school personnel.
  • Must be available for staff training during the week of May 6-10, 2024.
  • Must be available for the six-week residential program from June 2-July 12, 2024.
  • Availability for optional travel/chaperone duties from July 14-20, 2024.
