Residential Coordinator - Mental Health
About The Position
The Residential Coordinator, in collaboration with the Director of Residential Services, provides operational oversight of assigned residential house locations. This includes the development and implementation of all program curricula and activities within program building and in the community to meet the needs, choices, and interests of the individuals supported in the program. The Residential Coordinator will work with appropriate parties to ensure required documentation and forms are completed for files and billing, ensuring effective fiscal management as well as the supervision of direct support professionals working in the program. Helton House provides support to adults with disabilities and the mission of the programs are to provide skill building, safety supports and other person-centered support services to individuals diagnosed with mental, developmental, and intellectual disabilities. These programs are carried out in an environment where individual rights and personal choices are respected. Our services strive to support individuals in becoming valued, fully integrated members of the local community by assisting them with accessing the full range of community services and activities.
Requirements
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working with individuals with mental health disabilities required
- Computer experience and proficiency required
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and to lead a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage/prioritize multiple, often competing, priorities
- Most have excellent customer service skills and be able to communicate professionally and clearly
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree in a human services related field preferred
- One (1) year of supervisory experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide oversight and supervision to all direct support professionals
- Implement approved assessments and individual service and/or treatment plans
- Overall management of the houses, ensuring coverage and supervision of all individuals and staff, and providing temporary coverage as needed
- Provide support and guidance to the individuals in the home to ensure that the home, appliances, vehicles and the equipment are safe and operational
- Complete and review daily, monthly and quarterly documentation
- Plan and coordinate meaningful events for individuals
- Know, understand and follow the day support handbook, DBHDS/DMAS regulations, human rights and company policies
- Ensure that the fundamental rights of each individual in the home are protected
- Assist with training new hires and with annual training requirements for staff
- Respond to medical, behavioral and other emergencies appropriately and in a calm manner
- Works cooperatively with the individuals receiving services, co-workers, supervisors, and people in the community (CSB’s, Case Manager’s, Department of Social Services, Social Security Administration, Physician, dentists, families etc.) to ensure that all services are coordinated to benefit the individual
