About The Position

The Federal Savings Bank is a federally chartered, veteran-owned bank specializing in residential mortgage lending. Due to continued growth in our construction lending business, we are expanding our team and seeking an experienced Residential Construction Project Analyst. The Residential Construction Project Analyst is responsible for evaluating residential construction projects to determine feasibility, budget sufficiency, and overall project viability. This role reviews construction contracts, builder proposals, bids, plans, specifications, appraisals, and supporting documentation to ensure projects can be completed within available funding and meet bank requirements. The ideal candidate combines residential construction expertise with strong analytical skills and attention to detail. This position plays a critical role in protecting collateral quality, identifying budget deficiencies, and supporting construction lending decisions.

Requirements

  • Experience in: residential or commercial construction, construction estimating, construction lending, appraisal review or collateral underwriting, cost analysis, project management, or a related field
  • Experience reviewing residential construction budgets, cost estimates, plans, or project documentation
  • Experience managing multiple projects or a high-volume workflow
  • Experience working with various residential property types
  • Strong understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing, materials, and costs
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, blueprints, specifications, and site plans
  • Knowledge of construction budgeting, estimating, and cost analysis techniques
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly intermediate/advanced proficiency with Excel
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Critical thinking and analytical problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to identify inconsistencies and proactively resolve issues

Responsibilities

  • Review construction contracts, builder proposals, budgets, plans, specifications, bids, and related project documentation
  • Analyze residential construction projects to determine whether proposed budgets adequately support project completion
  • Evaluate labor, material, contingency, site development, and other project costs for completeness and reasonableness
  • Review appraisals and supporting documentation to validate project scope and consistency
  • Identify budget gaps, cost overruns, omissions, or construction-related issues that could impact project completion
  • Assess project feasibility based on construction methods, timelines, scope, and available funding
  • Review and process a high volume of construction projects while maintaining quality and service standards
  • Communicate project findings, requirements, and deficiencies clearly and professionally
  • Work directly with builders, borrowers, appraisers, inspectors, and internal stakeholders to obtain required documentation
  • Provide recommendations regarding project budgets, feasibility concerns, and construction risks
  • Assist in resolving project issues and obtaining budget revisions when needed
  • Effectively manage a high-volume pipeline while meeting established service levels
  • Prioritize competing deadlines and maintain organized project documentation
  • Support ongoing process improvements and operational initiatives within Construction Lending
