Residential Care Worker - 10 hours/week (Coquitlam)

As a Residential Care Worker, you will support individuals in various home settings to promote independence, foster opportunities for learning, self-expression, and community connection. You will assist with personal care, emotional and social support, and medical needs as required. Additionally, you will advocate for people’s rights, choices, and inclusion in all areas of life, and follow individualized care plans and help build new routines based on personal preferences.
Requirements
- Diploma in Human Services, Community Support, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Minimum one year of experience working with people with developmental disabilities and behavior challenges
- Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support (PBS)
- Class 5 Driver’s License required
- Personal vehicle required
- Current First Aid/CPR, Mandt, and Food Safe certifications
- Strong communication skills and a passion for building inclusive communities
- Union membership required (BCGEU)
Nice To Haves
- Experience with personal care and supporting diverse care needs (an asset)
- Class 4 Driver’s License preferred
