About The Position

Legacy Behavioral Health is seeking a Residential Care Specialist to join their team in Valdosta, Ga. This role provides services to consumers with a MH, SA, or Dual Diagnosis in a 24/7 community-based residential program. The specialist will provide skills training and education on daily living skills, case management services, assist with transportation, observe medication intake, and monitor/document consumer progress. Computer knowledge and extensive documentation are required. The position requires flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED
• Valid GA driver’s license with less than 5 points
• CPR/First Aid certification or ability to obtain CPR Certification
• Computer knowledge and extensive documentation is required.
• Must be physically and emotionally fit to work in a stress-filled environment to meet deadlines and deal with routine and crisis situations.
• May have extended periods of sitting, walking, and standing.
• Requires varying hours of duty to provide monitoring, educational and/or crisis handling, as well as travel to off campus locations in BHSGA or personal vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Provide skills training and education on daily living skills such as budgeting, performing household chores, personal hygiene, social skills, and meal preparation.
• Provide case management services such as linking to community resources.
• Assist with transportation and observe consumers take medications as prescribed.
• Monitor and document consumer progress in treatment using designated format and within established time frames.
