About The Position

This position provides psychiatric case work and is responsible for the overall coordination of care to the individuals residing at River Valley Therapeutic Residence. Duties of this position will include the coordination of resident admissions and discharges, working with a multidisciplinary team to create treatment plans and therapeutic interventions, coordinating care with outside providers and families, and supporting residents with community integration by assisting residents on individual and group outings in the community. Additional duties include the exploration of financial and disability benefits, tracking outcomes, and facilitating therapeutic and skill building groups and activities. The River Valley Therapeutic Residence (RVTR) aims to improve the health and well-being of Vermont's most vulnerable populations while focusing on psychiatric rehabilitation services and psychosocial treatment delivered in a recovery oriented, trauma informed, person-centered, holistic environment. The program offers a safe space to focus on recovery and community integration for those individuals no longer needing hospital level of care but who are not yet ready to transition back to the community.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a Mental Health related field AND EITHER one (1) year or more of professional experience working with individuals with serious mental illness OR a one-year field placement in a mental health clinic, psychiatric hospital, or Psychiatric Residential Program.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in a Mental Health related field AND three (3) years of professional experience working with individuals with serious mental illness.
  • A valid driver's license is required for necessary travel.
  • Candidates must pass a fingerprint supported background investigation.
  • Vermont and/or national criminal record checks, as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks, as appropriate to the position under recruitment, will be conducted on candidates.
