About The Position

The Residential Campus Home Monitor is responsible for ensuring a safe and secure environment on the Mooseheart campus. This role involves monitoring the campus, conducting residence home and bed checks, providing security for events, and responding to emergency situations. The position also includes documenting incidents, communicating with staff, and maintaining assigned vehicles and equipment. Security Officers are key to Mooseheart's mission of providing a safe and supportive environment for youth.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum 21 years of age.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with residents, staff, and visitors.
Keen observational skills and ability to notice unusual or suspicious activity.
Ability to act with professionalism, integrity, and sound judgment.
Reliable work history and strong teamwork mindset.
Valid Illinois driver's license with a clean driving record (no suspensions within the past 3 years).

Responsibilities

Monitor the Mooseheart campus to ensure a safe and secure environment.
Conduct residence home and bed checks to confirm proper youth locations.
Provide security and traffic control for on-campus events.
Assist staff and residents as needed.
Respond promptly to emergency situations according to departmental procedures.
Investigate building alarms, determine the cause, and ensure facilities are secure.
Report suspicious persons, vehicles, or incidents on campus.
Document all incidents accurately and thoroughly.
Report deviations in youth count to the appropriate Family Teacher.
Maintain confidentiality and share information only on a need-to-know basis.
Maintain assigned security vehicles in clean, safe operating condition and report any issues to the Chief of Security.
Complete and maintain all required certifications (CPR, First Aid, Fire Extinguisher).
Perform additional duties as assigned by the Chief of Security or Executive Director of Operations.
