About The Position

The Residential Associate Clinician (RAC) will provide coordination and guidance, counseling, and encouragement to participants as they transition from residential services to a more independent environment. The RAC will also implement and document participant’s progress in accordance with individualized rehabilitation plans and ensure a safe, healthy and secure environment which promotes growth and development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, nursing, vocational/psychiatric rehabilitation, education or other mental health field from an accredited college or university.
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance abuse systems and supports.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good communication skills both oral and written.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Direct experience in mental health services with emphasis on direct care in a community-based setting.
  • Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, bend, kneel, stack, stoop, which includes direct intervention with participants.
  • Frequent talking and listening.
  • Ability to climb and descend stairs.
  • Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
  • Requires crisis intervention in emergency situations.
  • May be required to report to work during emergencies including inclement weather.

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred availability to work every other weekend (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule. During the alternate weeks when not scheduled to work the weekend, assigned two additional weekday shifts to maintain a consistent 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities

  • Complete the initial and annual participant assessments and develop the participant’s recovery plan from a person-centered perspective.
  • Assist with the presentation in case conference for assigned participants.
  • Responsible for the care and maintenance of case records for all assigned participants.
  • Act as a liaison and consult with community agencies and families to maintain coordination in the recovery process.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of participant’s mental illness symptoms and their responses to recovery to ensure that immediate and appropriate interventions are provided.
  • Participate in staff planning, training and internal/external administrative meetings.
