About The Position

The Residential Assistant (RA) provides direct support, supervision, and guidance to adults participating in residential substance use treatment services. Using a trauma-informed and client-centered approach, the RA helps maintain a safe, respectful, and recovery-focused environment while supporting clients in their daily living activities, treatment participation, and recovery goals. Residential Assistants play a key role in ensuring the safety and well-being of clients, supporting program operations, maintaining accurate documentation, and fostering a welcoming environment for clients and their families.

Requirements

  • Driving is a requirement for this position
  • Current, active driver's license
  • Current, active auto insurance
  • Over the age of 23 (per our insurance policy)
  • Ability to drive agency vehicles, including passenger vans.
  • Ability to set and maintain professional boundaries
  • Demonstrated ability to treat clients and staff with respect and dignity
  • Pre-employment or for cause drug tests - including marijuana
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Criminal background and DMV checks
  • CPR, CPI, and Food Handlers cards are required within 30 days of hire

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in substance use/abuse treatment
  • Understanding of 12-step philosophy and treatment modalities.
  • Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct support and supervision to clients throughout daily residential activities.
  • Encourage client participation in recovery activities and programs.
  • Conduct routine client checks, facility rounds, safety inspections, and grounds checks.
  • Monitor for safety concerns and report incidents.
  • Facilitate medication distribution
  • Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MARs)
  • Complete daily logs, shift reports, incident reports, and other required documentation in a timely manner
  • Protect client privacy and maintain confidentiality
  • Assist with admissions, including room preparation, supplies, belongings searches, inventory documentation, and program orientation.
  • Make referrals to appropriate community resources.
  • Assist with front desk phone coverage.
  • Transport clients to approved appointments, recovery meetings, or other program-related activities
