About The Position

Empowering People's Independence (EPI), provides support for people with developmental disabilities, epilepsy, and brain injury through progressive, tailored care to improve their health, wellbeing, independence, and social inclusion. The primary function of this role is to provide for the continuous direction and day-to-day operation of the program and provide oversight for all assigned individuals and supervision to all assigned staff. The primary function of this role is to execute EPI’s strategic objectives to include, but no limited to:

Requirements

  • Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent with combined one-year experience in the human service field or an associate degree in a related field.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid NYS Driver’s License-a vehicle is required for business travel.
  • Mature interpersonal/professional skills to effectively collaborate, resolve issues and maintain confidentiality.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong numerical comprehension.
  • Demonstrated ability to use poise, tact, and diplomacy, during difficult and/or stressful situations.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, and customer requests, while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft programs to include Email, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain the health and well-being of the individuals of EPI serves.
  • Report all policy violations to appropriate personnel.
  • Serve as on-call as needed.
  • Provide protective oversight and supervision for individuals assigned.
  • Aid and provide instruction services on a daily basis to achieve the individuals’ goals and objectives; provide support and assistance for Habilitators.
  • Ensure shift has proper levels of coverage.
  • Provides site specific staff training as requested.
  • Ensure all required reports are completed per EPI specification.
  • Follow up on all employees’ documentation ensuring it is accurate and up to date.
  • Always promote workplace safety.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or designee within scope of practice.
  • Participate on various committees as able.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion concerning all business-related matters, including but not limited to board/vendors/donors’ names, investigations, finance, operations, and employee relations matters.
  • Must be willing to complete specific company required trainings as mandated by our governing agency, Office for People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD), at time of hire and annually thereafter.
  • Must adhere to all departmental /company policies & procedures at all times & ensure compliance with direct report.

  • Adhere to all company/departmental policies & procedures and ensure departmental compliance.
  • Provide training to staff as directed by Supervisor.
  • May be asked to assist in corrective action and performance management discussions.
