This role is responsible for creating a nurturing and positive learning environment for clients, helping them cope with social, emotional, and physical challenges of daily living to facilitate independent performance. The position involves active work both inside and outside the home, requiring the ability to lift and transfer up to 75lbs and utilize approved protective hold techniques. The Assistant Manager will implement Individual Plans of Care, monitor client progress, and document all interventions. They will also monitor medical, physical, and behavioral changes, report incidents, administer medication (once certified), assist with medical appointments, and ensure dietary plans are followed. Maintaining the appearance and cleanliness of the house, properties, and vehicle is also a key responsibility. The role requires professional conduct, participation in training, accurate accounting of funds, and fostering positive community relationships. The Assistant Manager will support the Program Manager in scheduling staff, ensuring data sheets are current, assisting with staff in-servicing, and overseeing the residential home in the manager's absence. They will also participate in the Interdisciplinary Team process, assist in program development, work with consultants, act as a role model, and attend staff meetings. Familiarity with agency policies and procedures is essential, as is providing supervision to staff and rotating on-call coverage.
