Residential Aide
About The Position
Provides direct care to families assigned to Essence Hotel Family. Monitors, screens, and oversees all families assigned to the Emergency Hotel. Responsible for the safety and security of all families assigned to the Emergency Hotel. Works closely with case management staff to meet the needs of the families. Assists families in developing their ADL skills, housekeeping as needed. Transports and accompanies clients to various appointments as needed. Engages families on a one-on-one basis as needed to afford socialization opportunities. Monitors families for adherence to project and hotel rules. Responds to family health and mental health needs as needed. Completes bed roster/bed assignment as needed in DHS-CARES system.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED
- Experience with the homeless and substance abuse population
- A clean and valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a passenger van
- Ability to establish workload priorities and balance diverse projects
- Excellent communication skills both orally and in writing with individuals and groups regarding complex and sensitive issues
- The physical ability to perform the essential job functions
- Food Handler License
