Residential Aide - Fisher Swing Shift (FT)
About The Position
Alcott, a leading nonprofit agency providing critical mental health and supportive housing services to low-income adults across Los Angeles County, is looking for a compassionate and dependable Residential Aide (Swing Shift) to support residents in our ODR Interim Housing program in South Los Angeles. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience working in mental health, substance use, or homeless services
- If in recovery, at least one (1) year of continuous sobriety required
- Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional during conflict or crises
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and familiarity with documentation systems
- Valid California Driver’s License, clean driving record, and insurability under agency policy
- Must pass Live Scan background check

- Current CPR certification
- Experience supporting high-needs populations in a residential setting

Responsibilities
- Respond promptly and professionally to resident requests and needs
- Support residents in maintaining independence and engagement in daily routines
- Assist with meal prep, serving, and group activities as needed
- Encourage and model appropriate behavior in shared living environments
- Conduct regular safety rounds and monitor resident behavior
- Respond to emergencies according to protocols
- Maintain cleanliness of shared areas including hallways, restrooms, and laundry rooms
- Complete shift documentation, incident reports, and daily logs accurately and on time
- Answer phones, take messages, and greet visitors
- Assist with scheduled activities, medication observation, and meetings
- Communicate clearly with other team members and provide thorough shift handoffs
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Program Manager
