About The Position

Residential Advocate at Recovering Hope Treatment Center. This full-time position, 40 hours a week, focuses on transporting clients to appointments, meetings, community resources, and recovery-related activities using company vehicles, while also providing support within the residential program as needed. The role requires compassion, dedication, and a desire to positively impact lives, with all necessary training provided. No prior experience is needed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to utilize and navigate computers, laptops, and/or tablets, to complete daily documentation or communication through email, an Electronic Medical Records System, or other company used programs.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of client rights according to Minnesota Statute Section 148F.165 and staff member responsibilities.
  • Experience working with chemical dependency and mental health disorders
  • Current CPR, First-Aid, Shaken Baby and SIDS certification

Responsibilities

  • Safely transport clients to appointments, meetings, community activities, and other approved destinations using company vehicles.
  • Assist with coordinating transportation schedules and ensuring timely client arrivals and departures.
  • Conduct vehicle checks and help maintain clean, safe, and organized company vehicles.
  • Support the recovery activities of clients.
  • Assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • De-escalate problem behaviors with clients.
  • Provide supervision and redirection in client interactions.
  • Monitor client whereabouts and document rounds hourly.
  • Encourage participation in groups, appointments, and recovery-focused activities.
  • Monitor client activity on cameras and check in clients returning to the facility.
  • Conduct room and vehicle searches, as needed.
  • Facilitate and monitor visiting hours for clients and visitors.
  • Coach parents in interactions with their children, as needed.
  • Administer medication in accordance with treatment plans.
  • Conduct drug tests through urine analysis or breathalyzer.
  • Ensure the building is secure by setting the alarm system.
  • Update client records and complete administrative tasks as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and supportive environment.
  • Provide treatment services as directed by the treatment team in accordance with section 245G.10, subdivision 3.
  • Serve as a positive and compassionate role model to clients, children, and families.
  • Work as a member of the broader team of the Center to ensure a high level of service to our clients, including assisting with general housekeeping, kitchen duties and light maintenance.
