About The Position

Provide on-site support for adult clients living full time on campus or coming to campus for school breaks. This role involves supporting, guiding, and transporting adult clients in a manner consistent with Epworth training, policies, and procedures. The Residential Advisor will foster a nurturing living environment aligned with the C.A.R.E. practice model, the mission of Epworth, and individual client care plans. Responsibilities include ensuring clients have necessary supplies, accompanying them on shopping trips, providing transportation for work and school, assisting Case Managers with self-sufficiency goals, maintaining a safe and structured environment, building meaningful relationships with clients, completing daily documentation, and instructing clients in self-care and life skills.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in human service field, or Two (2) year Associates Degree in Human Service field and two (2) years' experience working with adolescents or young adults.
  • Significant life experience in working with adolescents and young adults (i.e. group residential counselor, church/youth experience, camp counselor, etc.).
  • High level of personal integrity/honesty, reliability and initiative.
  • Current SC Driver's License with a clean 10-year driving record.
  • Must be able to pass standard background checks and pre-employment drug test.
  • Overnight stays in the building with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance, and transportation of adult clients in a manner consistent with all Epworth training, policies and procedures.
  • Provide a nurturing living environment consistent with the C.A.R.E. practice model, the mission of Epworth, and the respective client's plan of care.
  • Respond professionally to training, documentation, and performance expectations set forth by direct supervisors and Epworth leadership members.
  • Model the competence and character outcomes that are desired for clients, including practical skills for living and problem solving, social maturity, educational achievement, and integrity.
  • Ensure clients have all supplies needed for meals and daily living needs.
  • Accompany clients to buy groceries and clothes and other needs not provided by regular supply process.
  • Provide transportation to work and school as needed and as scheduled.
  • Assist Case Manager in ensuring clients are meeting established self-sufficiency goals.
  • Provide a safe, structured, clean environment in the center and on/off campus while serving as a role model and teacher.
  • Develop meaningful relationships with all clients.
  • Complete daily documentation on each client (i.e. progress notes, incident reports, etc.).
  • Provide instruction in self-care and other developmentally appropriate life skills.
