About The Position

Responsible for overseeing and monitoring all activities, duties, and responsibilities of the Residential Advisors on assigned shift and ensuring compliance with PRH requirements for the Residential Department. This role involves managing residential living to ensure student needs are met, providing activity reports, maintaining dormitory conditions, assisting students with problems, and facilitating prompt assistance in case of injury, illness, or other traumatic experiences. The position also requires attending staff training sessions and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
  • Two years’ experience working with youth and young adults
  • Ability to effectively communicate with and relate to disadvantaged youths
  • Ability to obtain a State driver’s license
  • Ability to obtain and maintain CPR/1st Aid & AED certification
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and motivate staff
  • Ability to model professional behaviors
  • Ability to operate office equipment
  • Ability to read at a college level
  • Ability to write at a college level

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and monitor activities, duties, and responsibilities of Residential Advisors on assigned shift.
  • Ensure compliance with PRH requirements for the Residential Department.
  • Direct and plan for the Social Development Department’s needs.
  • Manage the activities of residential living to ensure student needs are met.
  • Provide monthly and weekly activity reports to Center Management.
  • Ensure orderly and clean living conditions are maintained in dormitories.
  • Promote self-discipline and an awareness of others by modeling, mentoring, and monitoring staff and student behavior.
  • Assist students in handling special problems.
  • Conduct dormitory meetings.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address and resolve student issues and concerns.
  • Attend required staff training sessions.
  • Facilitate prompt and appropriate assistance to students in the event of injury, illness, emotional trauma, arrest, trouble at home, and other traumatic experiences.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
