Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required
• A minimum of one year of experience in Job Corps or a related youth development/residential program.
• Excellent customer service skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to model professional career success standards for our students.
• Regular, predictable attendance is essential
• Candidates must be able to: Sit, stand, walk, climb, reach, stoop, and crouch throughout the shift.
• Candidates must be able to: Lift, pull, push, or carry up to 40 pounds (and know how to safely assess heavier loads to ask for assistance).

Nice To Haves

• Advanced degrees are preferred
• A valid in-state Driver’s License is highly preferred.
• flexibility to work directed overtime when needed to support our community.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily guidance, conduct group sessions, and teach essential independent living skills to help students build positive behaviors and reach their personal goals.
• Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive dormitory culture by encouraging positive peer leadership and student-led unit government activities.
• Patrol and monitor the dorms and center grounds, proactively resolving conflicts and strictly upholding the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
• Assess student needs, recommend counseling when necessary, and maintain accurate, up-to-date case notes and files in our center information system.
• Keep the community running smoothly by directing student cleanup/maintenance, reporting daily operations, and ordering necessary living supplies.
