About The Position

The Residential Advisor provides a safe, supportive, and predictable environment through dormitory supervision of Job Corps trainees in their daily activities. This role involves monitoring their progress in attaining performance contract goals and objectives, utilizing behavior management, and implementing intentional and consistent Core-Value-driven practices. The Residential Advisor conducts dormitory operations in accordance with center operating policy and procedures, providing daily supervision to students aged 16-24 to ensure good order and discipline. They ensure dormitories are supervised 24 hours a day, verifying that all rules, policies, and procedures are followed by residents. The position requires maintaining 100% accountability of all residents and logging significant events. Additionally, the advisor assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification, and acting as a mentor, while documenting student records according to PRH standards and inputting relevant student data.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent required.
  • Required to pass a drug screen in compliance with our Substance Abuse and Drug-Free Workplace policy.
  • Employment is contingent upon successful completion of a nationwide criminal background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Prefer two years' experience in a related field such as counseling, education, social work, rehabilitation, or vocational guidance.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assists students in adjusting to Center life by providing supervision, behavior modification and acting as a mentor.
  • Documents student records according to PRH, inputting all relevant student data.
