About The Position

The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Division of State-Operated Specialty Care, Bureau of Woodward Resource Center (WRC) is seeking a Resident Treatment Supervisor (RTS) to join our team! As a Resident Treatment Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in ensuring our team in the Habilitation Services division is equipped with the knowledge and skills to deliver exceptional care and support. WRC prepares and supports individuals to live in the community of their choice. The facility provides a range of services that include being an Intermediate Care Facility for Individuals with an Intellectual Disability (ICF/IID), daily supported community living, consultations/training, behavioral health services, physical nutrition management, and community residential-based guidance in learning prosocial behavior and personal accountability.

Requirements

  • Provide supervision to staff who provide protection from harm and a safe environment to Individuals receiving services.
  • Assure care, support, and active treatment is provided 24/7 to Individuals in care.
  • Read, understand, and implement detailed written and/or oral instructions, policies, methods, and procedures.
  • Build, foster, and maintain partnerships at a variety of levels.
  • Teach, instruct, and lead in the implementation of various therapeutic procedures and practices.
  • Applicants will be required to complete a background check to be considered for this position.
  • Experience equal to two years of full-time work as a nursing or therapeutic assistant in a health care facility or other facility for the intellectually disabled, mentally ill, elderly, physically ill or disabled; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of post high school education (thirty semester or equivalent hours) with an emphasis in nursing and/or the social or behavioral sciences for one year of experience to a maximum substitute of one year.
  • Designated positions in this job class require applicants to obtain the required Commercial Drivers License and endorsements within a period of time as determined by the appointing authority at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the home’s supervisory team, monitor, guide, coach, train, direct, evaluate, maintain timekeeping, complete supervisory investigations, recommend disciplinary action, and complete all supervisory activities and documentation consistent with statutes, rules, policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Ensure staff receive competency-based training related to ISPs, IPPs, BSP, and PNMPs.
  • Monitor, coach, guide, and direct staff in providing care and active treatment to Individuals in the home related to all aspects of their lives.
  • Uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity in all aspects of your work, serving as a role model for our team members.
  • Attend and participate in all interdisciplinary team and other assigned meetings to contribute toward a comprehensive treatment plan that supports the Individuals served to live safe, healthy, successful, self-determined lives in the community of their choice.
