About The Position

This is a full-time position for a Resident Supervision Specialist. The role involves overseeing resident safety and security, maintaining accurate resident counts, participating in debriefings and report preparation, managing supply inventory, assisting with offender admissions and discharges, participating in disciplinary hearings, investigating incidents, conducting urine collection and testing, performing facility and offender searches, reviewing policy changes, transporting offenders, managing resident behavior, dispensing medication, processing resident requests, coordinating visitation, relaying information, processing offender mail and property, conducting security rounds, maintaining facility cleanliness and key control, completing annual training, maintaining daily logs, recording resident behaviors, and teaching resident orientation classes. All duties are essential job functions subject to reasonable accommodation. Employees may be required to perform other job-related tasks as required by their supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must be able to grasp and apply Cognitive Behavioral Therapy or other program ideologies.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all resident safety and security while on shift
  • Maintain an accurate count of residents in your care at all times
  • Conduct scheduled and non-scheduled counts
  • Participate in pre/post shift debriefings/Prepare written reports (Incident Reports, Statements, etc.)
  • Oversee inventory and ordering of supplies
  • Assist with admission and discharge of offenders
  • Participate in disciplinary hearings
  • Investigate incidents and report findings to the Supervisor
  • Responsible for urine collection and testing
  • Conduct facility and offender searches
  • Review changes to facility policies and procedures
  • Transporting offenders to and from work sites or outside appointments
  • Confront and discipline resident behavior problems and provide rewards for positive behaviors
  • Dispense medication
  • Process resident request forms
  • Coordinate and oversee resident visitation
  • Relay pertinent information up and down chain of command
  • Process offender mail
  • Processing and discharging offender property
  • Conducting security rounds
  • Maintaining facility cleanliness
  • Key inventory and control
  • Maintaining annual training requirements
  • Maintain daily logs (i.e. duty log, ra log etc.)
  • Recording resident behaviors, movement and control
  • Teach resident orientation class
