About The Position

This full-time position works all teacher days: student days and training/inservice days. The role involves substituting in classrooms, managing classroom environments, facilitating positive interactions, and instilling a biblical worldview in students. Additionally, the position includes duties such as providing classroom teacher notes, contributing to school improvement, supervising students during recess, and serving as a front desk receptionist in the main office.

Requirements

  • Must be a born-again Christian.
  • Must be a credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Bible.
  • Must be able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith.
  • Must have an understanding of, and commitment to Lighthouse Christian School educational objectives and philosophy of education.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and in an internet/online environment; ability to quickly learn and use different software applications.
  • Must have sufficient health and physical endurance to be able to complete assigned responsibilities.
  • Models Christian virtues in attitude, speech, and action.
  • Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22, 23).
  • Models and cultivates habits of prayer, faith, and encouragement in self and others.
  • Commits and contributes to a local church.
  • Possesses a solid and growing knowledge of the Scripture and Christianity.
  • Disciples students toward spiritual growth and maturity.
  • Maintains good health and physical endurance to fulfill job duties.
  • Maintains good attendance.
  • Ability to analyze situations and adopt an effective and calm course of action.
  • Ability to properly administer first aid if necessary.

  • Participate in meetings, devotions, professional learning community and Inservice as required.

Responsibilities

  • Substitute in classrooms, maintaining classroom management and a conducive learning environment.
  • Follow lesson plans outlined by the teacher and instill a biblical worldview in students.
  • Facilitate positive, productive interactions in the classroom and during recess, including conflict resolution.
  • Provide classroom teacher notes on student progress, performance, and conduct.
  • Supervise students during assigned recess, maintaining equipment and administering first aid if necessary.
  • Serve as a front desk receptionist, providing a friendly environment and communicating with parents, students, and visitors.
  • Attend required meetings, devotions, and in-services.
  • Contribute to the general well-being and improvement of the school.
  • Complete other tasks assigned by administration.
