The Modular Team is transforming the data center industry by treating it as a manufactured product. We engineer, build, and ship structural modules from a production line, moving away from traditional stick-built methods. This role is crucial in taking a first-of-a-kind modular data center product from released drawings to rate production on a live manufacturing line. You will engineer frames, enclosures, and lifting and transport structures designed to withstand fabrication, craning, road transport, and decades of service. A key aspect of this role is to rapidly close the loop between the factory floor and the design office, ensuring continuous improvement with each unit produced. You will also maintain configuration control as the product iterates at manufacturing speed. In this role, you will own the structural systems of the modular product, including frames, enclosures, and lifting and transport structures, from released drawings through rate production. You will be based on the Phoenix manufacturing line, walking the floor daily to identify and disposition fit-up and weld issues at the station where they occur. You will provide real-time structural support for the factory, answering RFIs the same day and engineering fixes into the next revision rather than deferring them. This includes running first-article reviews and fit checks in person as units are produced, documenting findings to drive drawing changes. You will also be responsible for feeding learnings from the line back into drawings, tolerances, and the Bill of Materials (BOM) to prevent recurring issues.
