About The Position

The Resident Services Navigators provide innovative support services and programming for a diverse population of youth (18 – 24) in the onsite Transitional Living program. This role involves providing 24-hour staffing at Outside In, supporting residents in building positive relationships, engaging in life skills building, and ensuring compliance with program agreements. The position also includes facilitating group meetings, coordinating program operations, and ensuring youth involvement in the living program community.

Requirements

Knowledge of service systems and clinical issues related to out-of-home youth.
Skills in MS Office applications and basic computer skills.
Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team setting.
Two years’ relevant experience working with at-risk youth, homeless youth and/or in a shelter or transitional housing program.
Experience, ability, and commitment to work with sexual minorities and culturally diverse staff, participants, and community.
Commitment to youth participation and involvement in individual and program planning and evaluation.

Responsibilities

Support Residents in the Transitional Living Program by building positive relationships, providing crisis counseling, utilizing harm reduction philosophy, engaging residents in life skills building, supporting youth in accomplishing goals, and monitoring compliance with program agreements.
Facilitate group meetings, including self-governance models and life skill building workshops, and coordinate with agency and community resources to maximize youth access to skill-building resources.
Oversee program operations, including material and operational support, involving youth in maintaining the program space, identifying and addressing cleaning needs, overseeing basic upkeep, identifying maintenance issues, and ensuring security and safety.
Involve and empower youth residents in generating community within the Transitional Living Program, supporting youth-generated activities and governance.
Coordinate with agency and community resources to remove barriers and enhance youth success, and share information about interventions with Case Managers.
Facilitate effective communication with staff, serving as a conduit of information, and assuring effective facilitation of team meetings, including staffing of residents.
Plan services, including life skills programs and improvements for the Transitional Living Program, and work with the team to evaluate function and implement program changes.
Debrief with fellow staff about crisis situations and discuss challenging situations with youth.
Perform all required documentation and information input accurately, thoroughly, and in a timely manner, completing all required statistics and reports.
Commit to continual learning and quality performance, participate in discussions, events, workshops, and trainings, meet youth worker core competencies, and maintain professional boundaries.
