About The Position

The Resident Services Director is the primary point of contact for Independent Living residents, and is integral in ensuring resident comments, concerns and requests are addressed expeditiously. Works closely with the Sales Team and Plant Operations to ensure occupancy goals are met. Monitors policies and procedures, public relations and employee morale. Incorporates Generations' Mission, Vision, and Values into their daily work and interactions with others.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, or GED
  • Business/management skills desirable.
  • Experience working in a long-term care setting.
  • Must be able to cooperate well with others.
  • Ability to read, write and follow written and oral instructions in the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Attend Independent Living resident meetings and address resident questions and/or concerns.
  • Review policies and procedures periodically and make changes as necessary.
  • Assist in preparing job descriptions and policy manuals.
  • Establish a safety program including a Fire and Disaster plan.
  • Participate in staff training.
  • Receive suggestions from department heads and other individuals on matters pertaining to department operations and external relationships, and respond promptly and in writing if necessary.
  • Review Independent Living financial reports monthly and prepare census reports as outlined by the management company.
  • Assist in establishing a home-like atmosphere for personnel and residents.
  • Incorporate choice, dignity, independence, individuality and privacy into job performance daily and encourage staff to uphold the same principles.
  • Review the physical environment of the community on a regular basis and direct requests for repair and replacement when necessary.
  • Assist the Sales department in new residents move-ins, transfers and move-outs, coordinating with other departments if necessary.
  • Assist the Executive Director in carrying out the goals and objectives of the community at large.
  • Assist residents and family members with any concerns or questions, following up and carrying out as needed.
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing relationship with the residents.
  • Personally meet each new resident within 72-hours of move-in.
  • Visit all residents minimally once a year.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional comfort of the residents.
  • Encourage socialization and a spirit of community by promoting regular interactive events for part of, or the entire community.
  • Be involved in the monthly and weekly Sales meetings to provide strategies for the future and smooth move-ins in the community.
  • Maintain good personal appearance and adhere to dress code as outlined in the employee manual.
  • Accept criticism or redirection in a positive manner and show willingness to redirect behavior, performance or attitude as instructed by manager.
  • May have oversight of Housekeeping and/or Plant Operations staff.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by the General Manager.
