About The Position

The Resident Services Aide is responsible for maintaining a high level of cleanliness in kitchen, dining room, living room, and food storage areas. This role involves cooking breakfasts to order, preparing meals, serving food, cleaning, and ensuring proper food temperatures are maintained. The position also requires adherence to safety practices, handling chemicals safely, and assisting with inventory and labeling. The Resident Services Aide must perform duties according to ethical standards and facility policies, including confidentiality of resident and employee information.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and write differentiating names, household chemicals, diet consistencies and other relevant words and phrases related to household tasks.
  • Must be capable of completing an English Comprehension Screening.
  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.
  • Ability to cooperate with other staff members.
  • Ability to use equipment as required for the job.
  • Ability to organize daily work tasks and complete in a timely manner.
  • Ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

  • Receives and follows oral or written work assignments from supervisor.
  • Cleans kitchen, dining room, living room, and food storage areas on a daily, weekly, and monthly schedule.
  • Reads chemical names, distinguishes appropriate chemicals for tasks, follows dilution ratios, and handles chemicals safely.
  • Cooks breakfasts to order per resident requests.
  • Lifts objects weighing up to 50 lbs, including water, mop buckets, garbage bags, and laundry bags.
  • Removes trash after each meal service on assigned shift to dumpster receptacles.
  • Completes meal prep as directed, including menus for breakfast and lunch, proper heating of food items, serving proper consistency, cleaning tables, washing dishes, and cleaning stove, microwave, and dish machine.
  • Takes and maintains temperatures of all meals per policy standards.
  • Takes and maintains temperature for dishwasher as directed daily.
  • Notifies RSA Coordinator of any issues needing attention, including missing food items or stock, broken equipment, etc.
  • Buddies up with coordinating house per schedule and/or supervisor request.
  • Follows safety practices including floor signage, locked closets, and properly stored chemicals.
  • Completes and demonstrates skills validation for Choking, Dysphagia/Thickening Liquids, and Diet Consistency.
  • Completes Kitchen Equipment List monthly.
  • Assists with house stock count as requested.
  • Assures all containers are properly labeled and dated in accordance with dietary standards.
  • Sets up meal preparations and tables for evening shift meals.
  • Performs duties according to highest ethical and moral standards and in adherence with the facility's corporate compliance plan and all applicable governing laws.
  • Adheres to the facility's confidentiality statement in accessing and safeguarding protected health information (PHI) of residents and employees.
