About The Position

Packsize is seeking a highly skilled Resident Service Engineer to work on-site at a key customer's location in the New Jersey area. This role involves installing, maintaining, and supporting Packsize equipment, managing parts and inventory within the warehouse, and building strong customer relationships through excellent service. The engineer will proactively address customer needs, ensuring satisfaction with the equipment, process flow, packaging designs, and overall service. This position requires a strong work ethic, effective time management, and the ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with both the customer and direct supervision.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in parts and inventory management, preferably in similar industry
  • Proficiency in using inventory management software and tools
  • Excellent Customer Service skills
  • Basic Excel, Word skills
  • Knowledge of Windows platforms
  • Advanced mechanical skills
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills to resolve equipment issues utilizing drawings, operational characteristics, and technical documentation
  • Ability to learn troubleshooting and problem-solving procedures
  • Able and willing to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to walk, climb, stand, carry materials, stoop, kneel, bend at waist
  • Must be able to climb a ladder
  • Exhibit mature, independent judgment with little or no direct supervision
  • Effectively communicate through written and verbal reports to customer and direct supervision regarding worksite status
  • Good mechanical and troubleshooting skills
  • Clean driving record with a valid driver’s license
  • Machine Operation

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree or Vocational technical training is strongly desired
  • Bachelor’s in related area preferred

Responsibilities

  • Work cross-functionally with R&D, Software and Quality Engineering teams
  • Receive incoming parts and supplies, verify their quality and quantity
  • Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of parts transactions
  • Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels of parts and supplies
  • Analyze customer Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) to identify new or ongoing machine performance issues resulting in problem-solving and machine maintenance
  • Completes and successfully pass training courses
  • Develops knowledge of Packaging Designs
  • Learns and develops the customer support and technical skills necessary to perform high quality maintenance
  • Performs preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and accessories
  • Performs installation of new equipment and train Customer Personnel
  • Learns and completes basic administration duties (assigned tasks, emails, etc.)
  • Clearing jams, loading Z-fold, changing labels, changing bander paper and adding glue to the machine.
