This role involves providing daily physician management and treatment of patients at the Clinic/Practice. The physician will offer clinical services including diagnosis, treatment, and referral, and participate in establishing office policies, procedures, and medical protocols. Responsibilities include appropriately referring patients to medical specialists, complying with BMA/BCHS policies and procedures, and utilizing program forms/computer systems for charting. The physician will also comply with case management protocols, assist with quality assurance and quality improvement plans, and work with Administration to ensure the program operates consistently with appropriate medical policy and current professional standards. Occasional participation in community events and public relations calls may occur outside of regularly scheduled office hours. Maintaining appropriate telephone contact with patients, payers, and pharmacies is also a key duty. The role includes performing various physical exams such as Routine Examinations, Department of Transportation (DOT) examinations, Post-Offer Examinations, Executive Physicals, Commercial Drivers License (CDL), Annual Examinations, and School/Sport Physicals. The physician may also serve as a Medical Review Officer (MRO) for drug screens and potentially as a Director for on-site Laboratory services.
