About The Position

The Resident Monitor is responsible for overseeing the custody, security, control, and maintenance of the facility and its residents.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergencies.
  • One year of paid work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors residents by observing, documenting, and ensuring accountability within the facility and in the community through enforcement of rules, responsibilities, and restrictions.
  • Provides control and documentation for transactions involving money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
  • Assists Counselors with resident programming, which may include installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents at home and work, and conducting alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
  • Conducts and documents scheduled internal and external inspections of the premises to maintain resident health, safety, and accountability.
  • Ensures that physical plant safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Maintains working knowledge and follows all procedures and policies outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in knowledge and operations of emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
  • Works necessary hours during work stoppages to staff the center and accepts reassigned shifts without advanced notice.
  • Attends and participates in all required appointments and meetings, some of which may be off-site.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of the center, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director.
