About The Position

Dismas Charities is seeking a Resident Monitor to join their team. This is a part-time, relief position focused on community-based adult re-entry programs. The role involves monitoring the custody, security, control, and maintenance of the facility and residents, ensuring their accountability and adherence to program rules. The Resident Monitor will also assist with managing program services, including electronic monitoring, home and employment visits, and surveillance testing. Additionally, the position requires conducting facility inspections to maintain health, safety, and sanitation standards, and staying proficient in all operational procedures and policies. The role also includes general housekeeping duties and other tasks assigned by the Director. Dismas Charities is a not-for-profit provider specializing in these services and offers a positive impact on the community by assisting individuals in becoming productive citizens.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals and groups in both routine and emergencies.
  • One year of paid work experience.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors, documents, and ensures the accountability of all residents within the facility and in the community by enforcing all rules, responsibilities, and restrictions.
  • Provides control and documentation of transactions regarding money, subsistence, medications, first-aid supplies, mail, visitors, accountability checks, and telephone calls.
  • Assists and supports Counselors with resident programming, which may include installing electronic monitoring equipment, visiting residents in their homes and places of employment, and providing alcohol and urine surveillance testing.
  • Conducts and documents scheduled internal and external inspections of the premises to maintain resident health, safety, and accountability.
  • Ensures physical plant safety and sanitation standards are maintained.
  • Maintains working knowledge and follows all procedures and policies outlined in the Statement of Work, Physical Plant, and Operations Manuals.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in knowledge and operations of emergency drills, life safety, facility sanitation, escapes, and unusual occurrence procedures.
  • Works necessary hours to staff the center in the event of a work stoppage and accepts reassigned shifts without advanced notice.
  • Attends and participates in all required appointments and meetings, some of which may be scheduled off-site.
  • Responsible for general housekeeping of the center, including dusting, polishing, vacuuming, and emptying trash.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by the Director.
