This is an active role performed both inside and outside the home, requiring the ability to lift and transfer 70-75lbs. The Resident Instructor will work with youth who may potentially cause harm, utilizing approved protective hold techniques to ensure safety. The position involves creating a positive learning environment, developing coping strategies for clients, and facilitating independent performance in daily living. A key aspect is demonstrating sensitivity and skills in dealing with clients' reactions to past traumatic and emotional events, providing compassion, understanding, limit setting, and a stable living environment. The role requires implementing Treatment Plans or Individual Plans of Care, documenting progress, and reporting any barriers. Daily monitoring of clients' medical, physical, and behavioral changes is essential, with prompt reporting to supervisors and relevant agencies. When medically certified, the instructor will administer medication, document its administration, and report any errors. Following behavioral and dietary plans, assisting with meal preparation, and purchasing supplies are also part of the duties. Maintaining the cleanliness of the home, inside and out, assisting with laundry, and ensuring the agency vehicle and property are well-maintained are expected. Adherence to client privacy and confidentiality policies is mandatory. Professional conduct is expected in all interactions. The role includes supervising family visitations, participating in mandatory training, and conducting community-based outings and recreational activities with clients. Other work-related duties as assigned by management are also part of the responsibilities.
