About The Position

Royal Engineers and Consultants, LLC seeks a dedicated and experienced Resident Inspector. The position provides quality control and assurance, measurement, materials testing, and documentation throughout all phases of construction by observing contractor activities. The Resident Inspector also adheres to site safety requirements, project plans, and specifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma; relevant and sufficient work experience may be substituted for this requirement.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Over five years up to and including seven years of experience.
• Extensive knowledge of construction principles and methods.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to conduct inspections and make professional assessments of work.
• Ability to read, analyze, and understand engineering plans and specifications.
• Ability to effectively communicate with engineering and construction personnel about site activities and project progress.
• Ability to write clear inspection reports on the condition of projects.
• Proficient in the use of a tablet or laptop.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• Ability to acclimate to project management software or related software.

Nice To Haves

• LADOTD, ACI, and other certifications are a plus.
• Heavy civil experience in roads, bridges, utility, and infrastructure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, test, or measure materials, installations, or work for conformance to specifications.
• Review and interpret plans, testing and sampling plans, site layouts, specifications, or construction methods to ensure compliance with contract documents.
• Notify supervisors or other personnel of problems within the project.
• Develop, maintain, and prepare daily reports, logs, charts, and forms detailing quality levels, inspection data, and results of special quality studies for review by lead-level supervisors and higher management.
