About The Position

TranSource Truck & Equipment, Inc. is seeking a Resident Technician in the Cheyenne, MT area. This role involves supporting the Construction and Agriculture Industry by representing Volvo Construction Equipment and multiple other product lines. The Resident Technician will be responsible for repairing, overhauling, and performing routine maintenance on diesel trucks and equipment, diagnosing technical issues, providing field and shop service, and inspecting/repairing various vehicle systems. Responsibilities also include new vehicle inspection, warranty repairs, computer diagnostics, and safe operation of customer vehicles if possessing a CDL. The technician must be able to work independently in the field and adhere to all safety regulations.

Requirements

  • 2-year technical degree and/or several years of comparable shop experience
  • Proven field service experience
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, transmissions, undercarriage, track systems and components, pneumatic, electrical and fuel systems
  • Excellent diagnostic and trouble-shooting skills
  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Ability to troubleshoot test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Ability to travel and work according to a changing schedule
  • Positive attitude
  • Desire to provide outstanding and professional customer service
  • Computer, written and verbal communication skills
  • Clean driving record
  • Insurable driving record
  • Current medical card or ability to obtain one
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working on Volvo equipment
  • CDL is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Repair, overhaul, and perform routine maintenance on diesel Trucks and Equipment according to factory specifications
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • Provide service and customer support in the field or shop
  • Inspect and repair engines, drivetrain, hydraulic, fuel, air, electrical, HVAC, brakes and suspension
  • Perform new vehicle inspection and final assembly including factory warranty repairs and computer diagnostics and programming
  • Move customer trucks and equipment in and out of work bays, drive customer vehicles as needed for test drives
  • Follow all safety regulations and policies
  • Work safely and independently in the field
  • Perform work as outlined on repair orders efficiently and accurately in accordance with dealership, factory, and customer standards
  • Utilize testing equipment, precision instruments and gauges, hand tools, portable power tools, cranes, and hoists as needed
  • Complete job reports and stories
