About The Position

Join the Martin Equipment team as a full-time Resident Field Technician based out of our Tolono, IL location, serving Douglas, Edgar, Coles, Clark, Cumberland, Shelby counties, and surrounding areas. This role offers the opportunity to work independently, take ownership of your territory, and be the go-to expert solving real problems in the field. You will be provided with a company-provided field service truck, fully equipped to support your success. This is a hands-on, field-based role working around heavy equipment, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel equipment to keep operations running.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of experience in diesel equipment repair (hydraulics & electrical)
• Ability to read schematics and troubleshoot complex issues
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and technical skills
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Nice To Haves

• Class A CDL
• Technical training or certifications

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel equipment
• Travel daily to customer job sites within your assigned region
• Operate and maintain your service truck and tools
• Troubleshoot hydraulic and electrical systems
• Order parts and accurately document service work for invoicing
• Ensure adherence to company, safety, and manufacturer standards
