Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in service-related roles, including volunteer work or public service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Publisher, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience working with senior citizens is preferred.
  • May direct, produce, edit, and videotape community activities, meetings, and special projects as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Visible advocate for residents, creating a fun and vibrant atmosphere by engaging residents through a series of activities, events, trips, etc.
  • Seeks to understand residents’ interest in activities/events and then organizes the activities and events for residents to attend.
  • Shows creativity in event creation and postings to garner interest for robust resident attendance.
  • Builds strong positive relationships with residents, departments and outside vendors.
  • Attends all Resident Life planned functions and help coordinate the event from beginning to end including set-up, running, and breaking down for the event.
  • Collaborates with departments to coordinate room usage for activities/events (i.e., room reservations through Event Management System; table/chair configuration and set-up/breakdown logistics; A/V needs; food and beverage; publicity, etc.)
  • Facilitates and maintains communication regarding activities/events among residents as well as various staff.
  • Participates in the Welcome Home program per the program standards.
  • Maintains appropriate records regarding resident interests, activities, and organizations.
  • Support philanthropy including fundraising campaigns, collaborating with residents, and working with peer groups.
  • Research and coordinate off campus excursions and transportation for residents.
