About The Position

RVE an Ardurra company is seeking a Resident Engineer to work out of our Cherry Hill, NJ Office. This professional will be responsible for the project record keeping, correspondence, compiling, reviewing, and delivery of required daily inspection reports. The ideal candidate will chair various project meetings, record and prepare and distribute accurate meeting minutes. This individual will need to be well experienced in bridges, highways and have an extensive background in construction especially with clients such as NJDOT, the NJTA, DRPA, and DRJTBC.

Requirements

  • Ability to draft reports including illustrations, appendices, maps and other attachments to summarize research results.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Stormwater Modeling Software, Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Must be familiar with NJDOT specifications and documentation practices.
  • Possess a combination of NJDOT, NJTA, DPRA, and DRJTBC experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program or equivalent
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license required
  • 5-8 years’ related work experience

Responsibilities

  • Act in the capacity of Resident Engineer, providing extensive inspection and management of construction project and serve as the Client’s liaison with the Contractor. The RE shall be capable of managing a 3+ CM/CI staff, possess strong communication, computer, and writing skills and be experienced with CPM Scheduling
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers, professionals, and infrastructure authorities on Federal, State, regional, and local improvement projects.
  • Conduct construction supervision and field inspection of the work in progress to determine if the work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents, both alone and/or as part of a team.
  • Work with client to inform public about upcoming work and potential impacts. Work with the contractor to minimize disruptions to the public.
  • Provide and maintain all records related to the project in question including daily quantities.
  • Manage all project submittals and requests for information, ensuring the proper Engineer performs the necessary review and/or guidance.
  • Keep a logbook of all observations and daily activities for ongoing work and provide the client with daily reports to include all labor trades, equipment supplied by Contractor, and measured pay quantities.
  • Review applications for payment with Contractor and make recommendations for progress payments to the Client.
  • Prepare a final punch list at substantial completion and perform final project review for project closeout.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as required by project and business needs.
